Each year our PTSA gives a Golden Acorn Award to people who
have given exemplary volunteer service to children and youth in our school
community… not just an individual who has donated time to help in her/her
child’s class or a staff member who is doing a good job. It is to recognize
volunteer service “above and beyond” a particular job description. The Golden
Acorn Award is very special and is given for continued and dedicated service.
When we present a Golden Acorn Award, that individual is
given a gold pin in the shape of an acorn, and a special certificate. We also
contribute $55.00 in the person’s name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship
Foundation. This foundation provides scholarships each year totaling
approximately $55,000 to Washington state high school graduates entering their
freshman year at a college, university or vocational school of their choice.
We would like you to participate in the selection of our
award recipient through your recommendations. Our PTSA awards committee will
make the final selection. Please fill in this form and return it to the
