Bellevue Schools Foundation

Math Curriculum Improvements

In June 2003, all third through twelfth grade Bellevue students received the Trends in International Math and Science Study (TIMSS) assessment, which was funded by the Bellevue Schools Foundation.

Assessment results were announced in April 2004, and included the recommendation to have Kindergarten through 8th grade (K-8) students study fewer units per grade, but at much deeper levels.  This concentration will result in students more fully understanding the mathematical concepts and help create the “building blocks” for further math studies at higher grades.

By providing the necessary funding, the Bellevue Schools Foundation ensures that the full implementation of these K-8 math improvements for students will be made throughout the Bellevue School District.

WANTED: Mid-Year Audit Lead

I am looking for someone to lead a group of 3 people in a mid-year audit of the PTSA records. This is a standard PTSA procedure. The WA State PTA provides a list of exactly what needs to be checked. An audit takes 2-3 hours and you will not need to recruit the other members; I will appoint them. The hardest part is finding a time when the audit team plus treasurer are all available :). Some accounting experience is helpful. Please volunteer if this task is a match for you. Call or email Laura Hammond at 957-1203 (ll_Hammond@hotmail.com).
