Help say Farewell to two of Bennett's Favorite Teachers. Steve Anderson and Jan LaPlant are retiring after a fabulous career with the Bellevue School District. Please come celebrate with us in the Bennett Library on Wednesday, June 8, from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Bennett Book Exchange coming June 22nd.

Last year over 1,000 books were brought in to the library for exchange. Check your shelves for books your kids have read and are ready to let someone else enjoy. Like last year books can be donated giving every student at Bennett an opportunity to pick up summer reading material. Look for more information in June when we will start collecting books. Spring Social: Movie Night a Success

Over 200 kids and their parents enjoyed Herbie the Love Bug from their comfortable chair or sleeping bag on the gym floor. The evening started out with announcements for Bennett PTSA scholarship winner, the Golden Acorn and Volunteer of the Year Award recipients. Announcements were wrapped up by giving away 5 door prizes to some lucky winners.

Many thanks to all the volunteers who stepped up during the evening including, but not limited to Dan and Marianne Petersen, Cecile Culp, Michelle Ball, Kelly Malcolm, Carol Davis, Kris Kennedy, Laura Poyer and Kat Thoman.

Special thanks to the committee members Andrea Hardesty, Judy Beach, Gina Dipko, Mike Doran. Lastly, thank you to Interlake High School Junior Class for providing refreshments and to Tennessee Hardesty, Dana Beach, Garrett House and Jack Thoman for handing out door prize tickets and helping to set up.

Used Kids' Clothing Drive at Bennett June 6-10

Time to spring clean your closets, kids! We will be collecting used children's clothing in all sizes (infant to 14) during the week of June 6-10. All items should be clean and in good condition. The clothing will be donated to Eastside Baby Corner, which then distributes it to needy children on the Eastside. Thank you for helping!

There are lots of items in the lost and found, which is located by the cafeteria. Please plan to check for any of your child's clothing before the end of the school year. Any items not picked up by the end of the year will be donated to Warm Coats for Kids and Eastside Baby Corner. Thanks!

Interlake High School PTSA Used Book Sale is Back!

Thanks to the numerous donations we received, IHS will be having another used book sale at Overlake Safeway, May 1 – 31. Choose from many adult and children’s’ books which are replenished every other day. All proceeds go directly to IHS PTSA, which funds many great programs for students and teachers.

Individual Development Account (IDA) Program

Hopelink will be hosting a series of orientations to the Individual Development Account (IDA) Program, a collaborative program of the United Way and 13 community-based organizations in King County. The main feature of the IDA Program is a matched savings account. Participants save money and have it matched by the collaborative on a 3:1 ratio. They may use their savings to buy a home or purchase an education.

More information about the program and the application process will be given at the following orientations:

June 15, 1-2:30 p.m. at Hopelink Bellevue (14812 Main Street, Bellevue)

June 16, 6-7:30 p.m. at Hopelink Bellevue (14812 Main Street, Bellevue)
