Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week  May 8-12

"Great teachers make great public schools"   Please show Bennett Teachers and Staff how much they mean to you.  Each class will be celebrating their teacher in their own way.  Room parents will be sending out that information soon.  Please remember to recognize non-teaching staff as well as teachers.

Lost and Found

We have been collecting lost clothing items at Bennett, since the beginning of the school year.  As you can imagine, our pile has gotten tall and wide.  Last Friday (April 21), we displayed all the items to students in the cafeteria-in hopes a large portion of items would be found by rightful owners.  On Friday, May 5, we will be donating all items that are left in storage.  If you feel your child may have lost an item, please contact Norma Gilbert before it’s too late!

Child Development

If you have concerns about your child’s development, the Bellevue School District offers free developmental screenings/assessments for children age birth through preschool age that live within the Bellevue School District.  The screening helps identify children who are having problems with speaking, thinking, social or motor skills.  The program is called Childfind.

For information on:

-  Assessments for children from 0-2 years, call Kindering Center at 747-4004.

 - Preschool screenings for children from 3-5, call 456-4171.

 - Concerns about the development/school progress for students from kindergarten through 21 years, contact the counselor at your child’s school.

Moving?

If your plans are to move from the Bennett Elementary attendance area, please come to the office and fill out a relocation plan form. This will help us with student placement and let us know we will need to forward your child’s records to the new school in August. (You may pick up immunization records at the office before the last day of school so you can take them directly to the new school).
