Text Box: Welcome back, we hope your family enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday! We also hope you had a chance to attend the Multicultural Potluck on November 17th, it was a fun night filled with delicious foods! Thank you to Chandra Bhattacharayya and the Multicultural Committee for making the Multicultural Potluck such a success!

As you walk around Bennett, you will notice the Reflections Art projects submitted by our talented students. The pieces with finalist ribbons are headed off to Crossroads to be judged at the city level. Any winners will then go on to be judged at a state level. We are very proud of every student who submitted their artwork including poetry, music, dance and choreography. Fine Arts and Performance Arts are what make our culture so rich and unique.

We appreciate the Bellevue PTSA, State PTA and National PTA for recognizing our student's diverse contributions to the arts in these projects. Please take an extra minute to wander Text Box: the Bennett halls and appreciate these projects for yourself! Thank you so much to Sue Bentsen and Heather Gibbs for chairing this year's Reflections project!

The PTSA is beginning to put together the Nominating Committee for next year's executive officers. Many of you have insight into the talents necessary for prospective officers. If you would like to serve on the Nominating Committee or possibly run for an office, please contact Jill Wagner for further information. We rely on the Nominating committee to put together a highly qualified and enthusiastic slate of recommended officers. The slate will not be presented for PTSA vote until March so you have plenty of time to get involved.

Once again we would like to thank the many Bennett families who volunteer their time and make Bennett so special. We couldn’t do it without you!

RELAY FOR LIFE: by Norma Gilbert

Once again Ms. Gilbert is putting a Relay for Life team together. This year's event will be held the weekend of May 5-6, 2007. The Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs for the American Cancer Society. During the event, teams take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. I am inviting all students at Bennett to participate. If you would like to have your child/ren to participate, please pick up an application from the office. Each student is expected to raise a minimum of $100. Envelopes will be available in January. So please plan ahead. When sending those Christmas cards out let everyone know that your child will be participating. Checks can be made out to: American Cancer Society. I am excited to have so many interested and hope to have the largest team participating.
