Welcome back after another extended vacation!  Hopefully you all had fun in the snow and are eager to get back into the swing of things! Let’s cross our fingers that the weather will cooperate with us for the rest of the year.

 

If you are even a little interested in the local and state politics in Washington, now is your opportunity to put in your 5 cents or sit back and listen while many of your questions are answered!  February 15th is PTA Focus Day in Olympia. The day has been set aside by legislators from each district to meet with PTA members and officers. As Bennett parents this also means YOU! Sign up to ride the free bus to Olympia and get involved. Learn more on page 4.

 

Young Scientist Week is scheduled for March 3^rd – March 9^th. This is one of the PTA’s most fun events and includes field trips, science experiments, an all school egg-drop, and Family Science Night on March 7^th. Science Week needs lots of volunteers so please contact Karen Dawson (kdawson@ch2m.com) if you’d like to help.

The Bennett Auction is also rapidly approaching

on March 24^th. This year’s theme is Hot Beats, Hot Seats! Enjoy an evening with the hot rhythms of Jazz, Latin, and Rock & Roll while bidding on great items. This is our major fundraiser of the year so please give your support in any way you can and plan on attending this fun event! See the story below for more information.

 

Thank you to the newly elected Nominating Committee – Cindy Mueller, Kris Kennedy, Alison House, Heather Gibbs, and Mike Bussing. The Nominating Committee will soon put together their slate of recommended Executive Committee Officers for 2007-08. This may seem early but the new officers are elected and sworn in next spring.
