Text Box: Here comes the WASL!

The Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) will take place April 23 through May 4.

Students in grades 3-5 will be assessed in reading and mathematics with the addition of writing for 4th and science for 5th.

The two weeks will demand a great deal of student energy. To help your child be at his/her best, we offer the following recommendations:
Text Box: ~ Be sure your child gets plenty of sleep throughout the two weeks (8-10 hours a night should suffice)

~ Be sure your child gets a healthy breakfast every morning (small snacks will be provided each day during a break)

~ Have your child wear comfortable clothing

~ Make sure your child gets to school on time

~ Please do not schedule early dismissals or appointments for your child

We appreciate your help.

The Friday Flyer

Text Box: The snow make-up days on the 2006-07 calendar are now official following ratification by the Bellevue Education Association. The District has been closed 8 days this year, 5 because of snow/ice and 3 following the high winds and power outage. The District will seek a waiver of the 3 days of power outage, based on the Governor’s declaration of a state of emergency. This means that the 5 snow-day closures will need to be made up this year.
The calendar changes are as follows:
End of first semester moved from January 26 to February 2.
January 29 is a school day for all students; previously it was a professional/non-student day for secondary students.
March 16 is a school day for all students; previously it was a professional/non-student day for elementary students.
April 12 and 13 (during Spring Break) are now school days.
June 21 and 22 are now school days.
In the event of any additional snow closures make-up will begin June 25.
