The Friday Flyer

The Friday Flyer will be published on the following dates—

There was no Flyer last week as it was originally scheduled as a day off from school. We are back on track for every other Friday. Please submit your articles by the Monday before publishing to be included in that week’s edition at: thefridayflyer@yahoo.com

We are going to be starting Architecture and Landscape Design in Art soon, so I am collecting materials.

 

If you can donate magazines with house/building pictures and/or fake vegetation (preferably not all huge silk

flowers) it would be much appreciated.

Bennett Auction FAQ’s

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

about the Bennett Auction.

 

What is the Auction?

The auction is the major fundraiser for the Bennett PTSA to raise funds for education enrichment for ALL students at Bennett Elementary. The auction includes a low-key silent auction, where parents, staff, and other supporters of our school bid anonymously on items, and a high-energy live auction, where an auctioneer leads the bidding.

 

Why does the Bennett PTSA need to raise so much money?

The mission of the PTSA is to support the school and education of all Bennett students. Unfortunately, state education funding does not cover all the expenses for education needs or cover what parents expect of schools in today’s high-tech world. PTSA provides money to pay for computers (e.g., the mobile computer lab), library books, classroom aids or education specialists (e.g., reading specialist), class field trips, visiting authors and scientists, and even basics like emergency equipment and supplies so our children are safe in case of a major disaster.

 

When and where is the Auction?

The Auction will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 from 5:45 PM to about 10:00 PM at the Glendale Country Club. Glendale is located at 13440 Main Street in Bellevue. This year we will have special entertainment:  live Brazilian music and dance by Show Brazil!

 

Who goes to the Auction?

Teachers, parents, adult family members and friends, and other Bennett supporters go to the auction. It is a fun event for a good cause (the students at Bennett Elementary) – we would love to have every Bennett parent attend!
