Spring is here!  We are certainly enjoying our "showers to make May flowers." Speaking of which, how is your classroom planter looking? The environmental committee and the Service Club planted bulbs in the fall which should be blooming now.

We have successfully completed another fabulous Young Scientist Week. A huge round of applause for Karen Dawson and all of the many volunteers for the amazing job they did organizing this year’s event. It was fun to see so many students participate in the projects and the family night had so many new experiments and demonstrations! Of course, as always, the egg drop was a huge 'hit.'

This year’s Auction, “Hot Beats, Hot Seats,” was also a huge success! It was an incredibly fun evening complete with hot music from Show Brazil and amazing items to bid on. A huge thank you to Marian McDermott and the rest of the auction team who put this event together. Thank you to the staff and families who donated items, the basket and keepsake coordinators, and all of the other many volunteers who helped with the auction. It’s amazing to see what our community can do when we all work together!

Our next General PTSA Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24th at 7:00pm in the library. The Nominating Committee will be presenting their recommended slate of PTSA Executive Officers. Please plan to attend the General Meeting and become involved in this invaluable process of managing a parent, teacher & student association. We will also be discussing fundraising opportunities for next year.

Lastly, mark your calendars for the Spring Social on Saturday, May 12th. The event will be held at the YMCA again and will include dinner and all kinds of activities for the kids. You don’t want to miss it!
